Faces expands programming to accommodate heightened community demand.

1Boise, ID, September 21, 2022– The Faces of Hope Victim Center continues to see unprecedented growth in the number of victims experiencing domestic violence, sexual assault, neglect and stalking in Ada County.

So far this year, Faces of Hope has assisted 361 victims with legal support, including filing protection orders, given new clothes and personal care items to 178 clients, and provided 1,881 counseling sessions and 248 safe nights through emergency housing.

Faces experienced a 28% increase in service requests between 2020 and 2021. As of August 2022, we have surpassed the number of services provided last year. This unprecedented growth has required Faces of Hope to be flexible and adjust as we see more and more community members experiencing domestic abuse, child abuse, sexual assault and elder abuse.

“We will continue to grow our programming and expand our services into West Ada County.” Faces of Hope Executive Director Paige Dinger said. “Because for these individuals, the horrors of abuse and the continued impact of economic uncertainty mean the physical, verbal and economic abuse is heightened.”

That’s why Faces of Hope is hosting a 3-day virtual fundraising event, Light of Hope, on September 27-29, 2022. Held every fall, kicking off Domestic Violence Awareness Month (DVAM), the goal of this event is to raise $100,000 or more for victim services.

“Faces of Hope has always relied on gifts from this wonderful community to support our work,” Dinger said. “This support is critical as we expand services. When victims come through the door at Faces of Hope, they begin their journey of healing. It’s an enormous first step—opening that one door can change their life.”
